How you can help
From the start, the charity has been built on trust and goodwill and supported by a small number of foundational patrons committing to three years of funding.
This has enabled us to make grants and commitments with confidence and to plan ahead.
What do people like about us?
- Our 100 per cent focus on studio ceramics and clay art
- Our energy, passion and network
- We are small, lean and independent with no conflicts or bureaucracy
- We are seasoned campaigners with a world-class panel of experts alongside
- The charity has no overheads to speak of, no salary or personal expense obligations and a commitment to donors’ gifts going directly to grants and projects
- The idea of helping make State Ceramics a sustainable, long-term philanthropic force
For these reasons, a donation or support of some kind to State Ceramics works harder and can achieve more than giving directly to a single project or arts institution.
You can help by giving any of the following:
Money, either one-off gifts or a fixed sum over a number of years or via a legacy on death. As a registered charity, donations to State Ceramics can be tax-efficient
Ceramic works that help us build a collection that can be exhibited freely to the public. From one or a few pieces to an entire collection, a gift to State Ceramics gives new life to your artworks
Archive materials relating to leading makers and players. Letters, diaries, photographs, notebooks, drawings or studies, news clippings, or exhibition catalogues can be precious resources. These can be saved for future study, and where suitable and funding allows, digitised and made available
Academic books and papers relating to studio pottery. These can add to the charity’s library or be distributed
Your time or other practical contribution to support our events and physical activities. This might involve writing essays or reviews of exhibitions in your area, promoting the charity in some way, developing local projects, offering property space or display cabinets for exhibitions, or volunteering to help at events
